Maren is a music producer, dancer, and storyteller based out of the Twin Cities. Her work is informed by her lived experiences and often explores themes of self acceptance, belonging, and pushing past self limiting narratives in order to create new pathways for healing and authentic connection. Having grown up on a farm, she draws upon childhood memories immersed in nature and uses this framework as inspiration to trust the process and remain accountable to her vision. Through storytelling, she aims to create transformative experiences for personal growth and collective impact.
Maren graduated with a B.A. in Music Business from Columbia College Chicago in 2013 and studied Audio Engineering at the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis. She’s had the opportunity to produce and compose music for dance theater and other independent projects in the Twin Cities. In 2018, she joined an all-female Street Dance collective, S.H.E (She Who Holds Everything) under the direction of Al Taw’am Movement. This experience further connected Maren to the Minnesota Street Dance community and solidified her passion for storytelling through movement. She’s participated in a handful of performances for S.H.E; Abandoned Outlines Pt. 2, Rooted, as well as nationally known artists through the Minnesota Timberwolves.
